ALLEN, Laura C & Eunice Josephine
I have been looking for information on the parents of my ggGrandmothers. They were sisters. One married into my father's side of the family and the other married into my mother's side of the family. Here is the information that I have been able to find, or know from family records.
Laura C. Allen born in Rome, GA on 4/14/1886 - middle name might be Cordelia but I'm not 100% sure. On her death certificate it is just listed as "C."
Eunice Josephine Allen born in Rome, GA on 11/28/1891
Parents: Green Taylor Allen and Mary "Molly" Campbell
As a young girl, I remember my grandma Eunice telling how they came to Texas in a wagon train. And, with all the stories they both used to tell us kids, I don't ever remember them talking about their parents.
I have a subscription to Ancestory.com, but can't find anything of Green Taylor Allen or Mary or Molly Campbell. They aren't listed in any of the Census. It's as though they didn't exist!
If anyone has any information on my elusive ancestors.

BELL, Joseph N. & Family
My g-grandfather's brother, Joseph N. Bell, lived in Chulio, Floyd, County, Ga. He is listed in the 1880 census with family.
Joseph N. Bell, m, 34, farmer
Rosa E. Bell, f, 28 keeping house
Mary E. Bell, dau, 6,
Martha B. bell, dau, 3,
George Ann Bell, 7m.

Joseph died around 1891-92 I believe in Floyd, Ga. I can't locate him in Floyd at all. I have a picture of Martha B. Bell, b) 1877 that she sent to my g-grandfather when she was 10.

I am trying to find out what happened to the other two daughters. In my gg-grandfather's will in 1892 it says, I give to my grandaughter, Martha B. Bell, only daughter of my son Joseph N., who is now dead. By that it seems Mary E. and George Ann are dead also.

Please, any information will be so appreciated. I sent this info in to a site in Floyd who does lookups but that was some time ago and I haven't heard anything.

I want to know what happened to the two girls and try to locate a current family member of Martha B. Bell so I can give this picture to them and let them know the family history.

THOMAS, Bradley
Bradley Thomas died around 1850 in Floyd County, GA. He was married to Martha “Patty” Key in 1806 in Jackson County, GA. Robert Hughen who was married to Martha Thomas in 1846 was the administrator of the estate. Those mentioned in estate papers were:
a) Alletha Thomas (her share was received for her by Isaac Weathers in 1856).
b) Mary E., William C., and James C. Hughen, the minor children of Robert A. Hughen .
c) Frances A. and Thomas B. Daniel, minor children of John Daniel
d) The widow, Martha Thomas.
It is believed that John Tapley Thomas who lived in nearby Whitfield County, GA was a son or close relative of Martha “Patty” and Bradley Thomas. There was no mention of John T. Thomas in the estate papers; however there was a receipt from John A. Thomas for boarding Martha Thomas, the widow of Bradley Thomas. Bradley lived in Jackson County in 1820 and 1830. In 1820, there were six children in the household under the age of 16. In 1830, there were seven children; therefore, it appears that there were more children than the three who were mentioned in the estate papers.
In the 1860 census of Floyd County (household 837) Martha Thomas, the widow of Bradley Thomas, is listed (age 76, female, birthplace Virginia. Living in her household was George Bailey, his wife and two children. George is the son of Sarah Key Bailey, Martha's sister.
Information on any member of this family would be greatly appreciated.
