Elmer Bagwell Dies Suddenly Elmer Otis Bagwell, age 31, was found dead in bed at the residence of his uncle, J. B. Bagwell, on East First Street about 11 o'clock last night. He had retired about 6 o'clock. An inquest will be held this afternoon at 2:30 by Coroner O. D. Mingee at the Jennings Funeral Home.
Mr. Bagwell was born and had spent his entire life in Rome and for a number of years had been employed at the Rome Hosiery mill.
Surviving him are his widow, the former Miss Malinda Rose; one daughter, Gertrude; two brothers, Lawrence and Carl of Rome; two sisters, Mrs. Nora Lindsey of Rome and Mrs. Ruth Sexton of Merriana, Fla; and his mother, Mrs. J. A. Bagwell, of Rome.
Funeral services will probably be conducted Friday and the complete arrangements will be announced tomorrow by the Jennings Funeral Home.

LAST RITES READ FOR H. BAGWELL, 9, AT COLE CHAPEL Funeral services for Harry Bagwell, 9, who was drowned last wednesday afternoon in the Etowah River, and whose body was recovered Tuesday, were conducted this morning at 11 o'clock at the chapel of Emmett Cole. The Rev. W. F. Conn officiated, and interment was in the Fellowship Cemetery.
The following were pallbearers: Robert Poole, John Boswell, Alton Hollis, Hampton Worthington, Robert Earnest and Earnest Ford.
Harry is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Bagwell, and the following brothers and sisters: Elmer, Carl, Lawrence, Nora and Ruth.

Mrs. Georgiann Roxie Ray Smith Berryhill Age 78, of Rossville, died Thursday, at her residence.
Mrs. Berryhill was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cicero Isom Ray, was born in Calhoun, April 26, 1892, and had resided in Rome for 50 years. She moved to Rossville in 1969 to live with her grandson. She was a member of the Bluffton, Ala. Baptist Church and for thirty years owned and operated a grocery store and cafe in the North and West Rome area. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Sanders Berryhill, on October 4, 1942.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. H. H. Holder, Atlanta, and Mrs. Nettie Beal, South Carolina; one half sister, Mrs. Rosa Lee Phillips, Miami, Fla.; one grandson, Arthur T. Guice, Jr., Rossville; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 P.M. in the chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Parnick Jennings Sr. officiating. Interment will be in the East View Cemetery.
The body will remain at the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends today from 7-9 P.M..
Jennings Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Tracy Leigh Hodge Biddy Age 24, died Saturday. Ms. Biddy was born in Albany
and was a long time resident of Cobb County. She was employed by Rainbow
Transport. Survivors include a daughter, Crystal Lauren Biddy, Rome; a son,
Michael Brandon Hodge, Rome; a sister, Edna Hilderbrand, Hiram; a brother,
Kevin Barnett, Dallas; a nice. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday
at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home Chapel, Marietta with the Rev. Roger
Davis officiating. Interment will be at Kennesaw Memorial Park, Marietta.

Billy Bradford Last rites were conducted yesterday afternoon in the
Damascus Baptist Church for Billy Bradford 12 year old son of T. T.
Bradford, of Silver Creek, Route 1, who died of a shotgun wound Tuesday
afternoon at his home. Officiating were the Rev. J. C. Rogers and the Rev.
Jess McCain. Burial was in the family lot in Damascus Cemetery. Billy was
born on December 6, 1933, and was a student at Harmony School. His mother
preceded him in death on December 26, 1938.

Clarence Edgar Brooks, Jr. Mr. Clarence Edgar Brooks, Jr., age 68, of Cave Spring, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 1999. Mr. Brooks was born June 12, 1930 in Floyd County and was a member of Silver Creek United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Betty Rampley Brooks, Cave Spring; daughter, Jennifer Pruitt, Silver Creek; son, Barry Brooks, Chatsworth; father C. E. Brooks, Sr., Lindale; two brothers, Rev. Jack Brooks, Rome and Jim Brooks, Lacy, Washington; two grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Friday, January 15, 1999 from the Henderson and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Sampley officiating. Interment followed in the East View Cemetery, Rome, GA. Henderson and Sons Funeral Home, Lindale, was in charge of the arrangements. The Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home, make this announcement for the family and friends in Cedartown.
