Arthur Henry Owens
Arthur Henry Owens, 67, retired farmer of Cave Spring Route 2, died in a local hospital at 11:03 a.m. today following an illness of three weeks.
Born in Chattooga County in 1882, son of the late George and Sarah Waters Owens, he had resided in Floyd County most of his life. Surviving are the widow, the former Frances Carrie York; one son, Charles Owens; five daughters, Mrs. Jim Terry, Mrs. Henry Brooks, Mrs. Kate Mason, Mrs. Julia Norton and Mrs. Ernest Pledger; two brothers, D. F. And George Owens, all of Cave Spring Route 2; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Barrett and Mrs. Lon Dugger, both of Rome; and nine grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Jenning Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Arthur H. Owens, 67, retired farmer of Cave Spring Route 2 who died Wednesday in a local hospital, were held at 3 p.m. today at the Cave Spring Baptist Church. The Rev. Ed Dempsey officiated andinterment was in Cave Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers included: Arthur Ball, John Wheeler, Asa and Capers Baxter, Fred Morgan and Clarence Hobgood.

Mrs. Carrie York Owens
Mrs. Carrie York Owens, 86, of Cave Spring Rte. 1, died Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Cedartown hospital following a long illness. Mrs. Owens was born in Bartow County Jan. 11, 1883. She spent most of her life in Floyd County. She was the daughter of the late Mr. And Mrs. Isaac York. She was married to Arthur Owens August 29, 1907 who died in 1929. She was a member of the Cave Spring Baptist Church and the Dorcus Sunday School Class. Survivors include one son, Charlie P. Owens, Cave Spring, five daughters, Mrs. Lillie Mae Terry, Mrs. Ruth Brooks, Mrs. Lou Winnie Norton and Mrs. Kathryn Pledger, all of Cave Spring and Mrs. Kate Wilson, Rome, three half-brothers, Robert York, Cartersville, Isaac York, Silver Creek and Alec York, Rome, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today in Cave Spring Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Givins and Franklin Thomas officiating. Interment was in Cave Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Owens, Jim Owens, Gordon Roberts, Jack Wheeler, Bobby King and Seab Evans. Henerson-Frazier Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
